Your daughter is not you

If you’ve spent any time on my blog or in conversation with me since October or November last year, you will have heard me talk about Patti Digh.  I’m a huge fan of her writing and am almost half way through a group coaching program with Patti and her coach, David Robinson, which I’m loving, loving loving.

If you love to read thought-provoking, beautifully written essays, please spend some time on Patti’s blog at www.37days.com and/or read her book “Life is a Verb”.  I read and re-read it on a daily basis.

Today Patti wrote a blog post/essay about the process her oldest daughter has just gone through in making her college selection.  I think this should be required reading for all mothers and especially all mothers of daughters.

Patti concludes:

Parenting is an exercise in letting go. So is living.”
